Fulton Community,
Fulton, Kansas

Imagine a farm in the late 1800s-power is provided by horses, light comes from lanterns and farms use none of the chemicals that large, industrial farms use today. That image describes the Fulton Amish community farms, located in southeast Kansas, about twenty miles north of Fort Scott. One of the fifteen families that make up this community is Noah and Mary Hochstetler. Noah and Mary purchased a farm and moved to Fulton, KS from Tomah, Wisconsin on May 10, 2006. They have eleven children- Amos, Perry, Danny, Fannie, Lizzie, Levi, Ida, Menno, Esther, Mattie, and Moses- of which seven still live at home.

Jay and Carol Maddick,
Lathrop, Missouri

In rural Missouri lies a farm with 3,500 chickens, 120 cows, 285 ewes, 200 ducks and a couple just beginning to raise their family. Jay and Carol Maddick and their children, Brandon and Isabel, live in Lathrop, Missouri. "We're not big. We don't have tens of thousands of chickens, but our smaller size lets us control the entire process.  "For this young couple raising chickens in a natural, chemical-free environment started as an experiment and a way to return to their rural backgrounds. "Customers who believe in sustainable farming practices, minimal chemicals and want that succulent, old-fashioned flavor, have to buy chickens raised naturally," Carol said. They are proud that they process every Wednesday on the farm in USDA Federal inspected plant. Good Natured Family Farms is proud to have the Maddicks as one of their Alliance members.
